ABOUT

A little birdie told me...

Hello! I'm Caitlin-- a musician, music teacher, and life-long learner! I hold a B.A. in Voice and Music Composition and an M.A. in Education with music endorsements from Seattle Pacific University. I have taught private guitar, piano, and voice lessons for over nine years, and was a middle school choral director for three years. I am also a singer-songwriter and have recorded and performed music at various venues around Seattle over the last decade.

I teach many styles of music including jazz, pop, folk, and classical. Although I teach a range of styles, my specialties are in singer-songwriter-style music and vocal technique. I enjoy working with all ages of learners. I tailor lessons to students' unique goals, needs, and learning styles, while also holding students to high expectations and introducing new types of music.

In addition to teaching music I enjoy playing out at open mics, sharing songs at my monthly songwriters' gathering, jamming with my folk music trio, and leading music at my church.

I believe that music is a universal language — it has been "spoken and understood" by all cultures throughout all of history. Learning the language of music is a valuable endeavor for anyone, regardless of age, skill level, or background. This is why I am passionate about teaching. Music has greatly enriched my life, and I love helping others gain valuable life-long musical skills and experiences through private lessons.

Whether you are interested in getting started with basics, you are a seasoned musician wanting to level up your skills, or you fall somewhere in-between, I am excited to help you move forward on your musical journey!
